The changes brought on the residential market by the COVID-19 pandemic are permanent, even if an unwanted wave two of disease will not occur after all. This was one of the messages that Mauricio Mesa Gomez, country manager of Cordia Romania and Spain, transmitted during the Virtual Property Forum 2020 event.
During the period of isolation caused by measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, many of us worked from home, and the need for a separate workspace is one of the changes that have emerged.
“It is very interesting what is happening on the market and I think that the design of the apartments will be changed, both inside and outside. I think that the apartment of the future will include a work space at home, a small area where one can take the laptop and phone, an area isolated from the rest of the house. Maybe you won’t work there all week, just a few days a week.
The need for safety and comfort is growing nowadays and is manifested not only in the interior of the apartments, but also in the facilities offered by the project and the urban environment in which it is located, and all this will also influence how the projects will look on the outside and their location as well ”, explained Mauricio Mesa Gomez.
He also stated, in the panel at Virtual Property Forum 2020, that, once the state of emergency and traffic restrictions imposed between March 16 and May 15 were lifted, the interest of apartment buyers in Parcului20 residential project returned to even higher levels than expected.
“In Romania, we have a project that we are currently building, with a total of 485 apartments developed in two phases and we noticed that during the quarantine period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the market stopped almost completely, people were afraid of what was happening. In the past three weeks, since we reopened our sales office in 2 Expoziției Blvd, we noticed an intense, rapid return of buyers, stronger than we expected”, said Mauricio Mesa Gomez.
Cordia Romania, member of Futureal group, is developing, in Expoziției area, North Bucharest, Parcului20 residential project, comprised of 485 apartments for the middle-high segment of the market. Construction works on the first phase of the project, which is due to be completed in September 2020, have continued at a steady pace throughout the quarantine period. Parcului20, located near Herăstrău Park, includes over 30 apartment configurations, which benefit from integrated smart-home systems, underfloor heating, a 3,000 sqm private garden, 579 parking spaces, charging stations for electric vehicles, parking spaces for bicycles.
