On  April 19, in the morning, we met up with our friends from Evergreen Biking Team for a bike ride, starting from Parcului20. It was just what we needed after the Easter holiday!

The proximity to Herastrau Park – within six minutes we were already pedaling along the shady lanes – is a plus for the residents in Parcului20 who want to exercise, and we felt the benefit to the full. Riding our bikes made us feel energized and cheerful, and glad we are able to support local initiatives and events that encourage movement and a healthy lifestyle, like the Evergreen Biking Club.

During the ride, we talked to members of the club, which was founded in 2013, and discovered that, for its 21 members, sport is a shared passion, not just an opportunity to move. Comprised of two sections, the children’s section, with six members aged between 9 and 17, and the adult section, which has 15 members, Evergreen Biking Team is affiliated to the Romanian Cycling Federation and is registered in the Sports Register of the Ministry of Youth and Sport.

Club members say that mountain biking is the branch of cycling they love most, because it is an endurance sport that requires physical and mental endurance as well as technical skills. During the competitive season, Evergreen Biking Club members compete in more than 40 mountain bike races, some of which are overseas, obtaining podium positions in every race they participate.

We say goodbye with the promise of seeing each other again soon and we hope we can contribute to the club’s objectives, which this year aims, among other things, to increase the number of members of the children’s section, their participation in all stages of the National Cup and the National MTB Championship and organizing a training camp for children and adults.
